Bronze Fennel Seed
Bronze Fennel Plant: Frilly, Ferny Foilage that Pollinators Love
Oh, and EASY, did I say EXTRA SUPER EASY to grow? Bronze fennel is a super cool plant. Stick some seeds at the back of your flower bed, it gets 3-4 feet tall. Plant a row along your sidewalk for guests to brush against en route to your door, crushing the smoky copper-green-purple frills fern-like foliage between your fingertips. Season potatoes, fish, and dark rum with the anise flavor.
A helpful pollinator as well as aromatic sensation, bronze fennel attracts hover flies, monach caterpillars (an excellent reason to grow anything!) wasps, bumble bees, and honey bees like crazy.
Grown from my organic seeds in organic soil. :)
Growing Information:
-LOVES our sandy Ypsi soil.
-Bronze fennel is happiest in full sun, but partial shade will also work.
-Once established outdoors, it doesn't need much care at all unless you see the leaves shrivel at bit when it's hot out. In that case, water!
